North Andover Lacrosse (NALAX) is a youth lacrosse program associated with the national US Lacrosse organization (www.uslacrosse.org). Locally we are members of the Patriot Youth Lacrosse League (www.patriotyouthlacrosse.com) for the boys program and Massachusetts Bay Girls Lacrosse League (www.mbgll.org) for the girls program. Generally, there are 2 practices per week with games on Sunday afternoons scheduled through the 2 organizations noted above. Grades 1-8 are divided into 4 age groups by grades as follows:
| Grade | Level |
|---|---|
| 1 - 2 | U09 |
| 3 - 4 | U11 |
| 5 - 6 | U13 |
| 7 - 8 | U15 |
All teams play as travel teams against other towns in the Mass Bay area, primarily in the northeast region of Massachusetts. The U09 level is developmental and play scrimmage games against other towns.
The goals of the NALAX Lacrosse Program and the governing bodies are to have all participants develop an understanding and passion for the game of lacrosse. Emphasis will be placed on having all players learn the proper fundamental techniques needed to be successful in the sport. As the players reach the higher levels, competition will increase and the player will be taught more sophisticated offensive and defensive strategy.
Players at the U13/15 boys and girls level will have the additional opportunity to be selected to play in an advanced program. The select teams allow for increased fun and competition against other higher skilled programs increasing the overall level for the town. Additional fees will apply if selected.
NALAX will provide jerseys for the players to use through the season and are not part of the fees and need to be returned at the end of the season. For questions contact any of the members on the contact list found on the web site.
See you on the lacrosse field,
Larry Ayres
